Gaurav Sharma

Gaurav Sharma is an AI policy and advocacy consultant. Formerly, Gaurav was AI advisor at the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) 2020-2024. He was an AI Tech Policy Fellow at the Academy of International Affairs, Bonn, Germany in 2022-2023. He coordinates the Alumni Hub for the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) in India since 2013 and served as the Ambassador for the ‘Global Leadership Academy’ for Asia-Pacific (2019-2020). Gaurav was also a Think20 Task Force-5 member of the G20 (2016-2020) and received the Humboldt Funded German Chancellor Fellowship in 2015-16. He holds a Master’s in International and European Security from Geneva, an engineering degree in IT and a post-graduate diploma in human rights, humanitarian rights and refugee laws. He comes 18+ years of multi-disciplinary experience in International Development, Foreign and Security Policy, and Information Technology. Passionate about policy impetus in AI for sustainable development for social impact.
