About the Event
This convening brings together esteemed members of the Safe & Trusted AI Working Group of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, along with leaders in technology, policymaking, research, academia, and civil society to collectively explore pathways toward advancing technically reliable and socially safe, responsible, and trustworthy AI systems.
Key Discussion Areas
The deliberations are expected to generate shared insights and collaborative directions around two key areas:
Need and Interest in a Repository for AI Safety
Exploring the need for creating an open, collaborative ecosystem, with a focus on the Global South, which would possibly comprise:
- Datasets and benchmarks
- Tools and frameworks
- Best practices
- Governance protocols
These resources will be hosted and made available for ensuring safe and trustworthy AI development and deployment.
AI Governance Frameworks and Operationalisation in the Global South
Identifying practical models, frameworks, and realistic roadmaps for operationalising AI governance principles into contextually relevant and actionable mechanisms across the Global South.
This session will focus on bridging the gap between policy and practice, ensuring that governance frameworks are implementable in diverse regional contexts.
